
Our stop in Puerto Madryn provided the opportunity for a trip to Peninsula Valdes, one of the finest wildlife
reserves in South America. Caleta Valdes, on the eastern shore, is a sheltered bay with a long gravel pit onto
which elephant seals haul up. At Puerto Piramides we were able to watch a sea lion colony from afar. Thankfully
I had my long lens!.
